BRUNSWICK, Maine- University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country raced its way to a fourth place finish out of eight teams on Saturday at the Bowdoin Invitational.
Laura Pulito (Brownfield, Maine/Fryeburg Academy) led the Beavers in 18th place with a time of 25:17.6. Hannah Emery (Detroit, Maine/MCI) finished only four seconds behind her teammate with a a time of 25:21.8 and a 19th place finish. Gwen Baker (Windham, Maine/Windham) finished in 25th place with a time of 26:01.0. Rounding out the scoring for UMF, Alisha Labbe (Turner, Maine/Leavitt) in 35th place with a time of 26:57.1 and Shayna Frost (Monmouth, Maine/Monmouth Academy) in 36th place with a time of 26:57.7
UMF finished in fourth place with 106 points. The fourth place finish was the best finish for a North Atlantic Conference team. Wellesley won the invitational with 27 points, just one point better than second place and host Bowdoin.
UMaine-Farmington will race again on October 1 at the Colby Invitational.
