Pulito Earns a Top Five Spot at Runnin' Monks Invitational

STANDISH, MaineLaura Pulito finished the St. Joseph's Runnin' Monks Invitational five kilometer race with a fourth place finish out of 129 racers on Saturday.

Pulito made the All-Invitational Team after crossing the line at 21:19 and averaged a team-best 6:52 mile. Pulito trailed Emmanuel's Chloe Pangonis for third place by 16 seconds. St. Joseph's Heather Eaton grabbed the title with a time of 20:13.

Emma Pidden followed in eighth place and an overall time of 21:39, while earning a spot on the All-Invitational Team. Alisha Labbe placed 14th overall with a total time of 22:22. The Beavers had five runners rank among the top 30 competitors as Hannah Emery (24th), Emily Franklin (26th), and Gwen Baker (28th) grabbed slates in the top 30 ranking.

UMF placed third overall as a team with 76 points. The Beavers trailed the University of New England for second by 12 points. Emmanuel College had five racers place in the top 10 and won the event with 23 points.

UMaine-Farmington will race in the Maine Collegiate Championship next Saturday, hosted by Bowdoin College.
