Women’s cross country takes third at NAC championship

HENNIKER, N.H. – Two University of Maine at Farmington runners took all-conference honors as the Beavers finished third out of 10 teams at the North Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Championships, Saturday at New England College.

Senior Salena Sykes (Island Pond, Vt./North Country Union) finished 12th overall with a time of 21:15 while rookie Farren Welzel (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) was 13th in 21:19, and both earned Second Team All-NAC honors.

Cadyn Wilson (Hallowell, Maine/Hall-Dale) was third among UMaine-Farmington finishers, placing 21st on the 5000m course with a time of 21:57.

UMF tallied 102 points on its way to third place, trailing the first place squad from Husson (38 pts.) and second place Colby-Sawyer (48 pts.).
