Women's volleyball drops four-set decision at Husson

BANGOR, Maine -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's volleyball team stole one set off host Husson University but could not take the match and dropped a 3-1 decision to the Eagles, Wednesday night at Newman Gymnasium.

Set scores for Husson were 25-11, 25-22, 18-25, and 25-16.

Junior middle Jen Vadnais (Arundel, Maine/Biddeford) charted a team-high nine kills for UMaine-Farmington (2-6), while junior middle Nicole Osborne (Calais, Maine/Calais) logged eight terminations.  Senior Whitney Walls (Bar Harbor, Maine/Mount Desert Island) set the offense for the Beavers, and logged 14 assists.

Sophomore libero Marina Tello (San Antonio, Texas) sprawed for 14 digs, and served off six aces on Husson (6-5).

Husson was paced by Hannah Olstad with 13 kills, four aces, and two block solos for the match, while Michelle Smith tallied seven kills and two aces. Setter Aleta Johnson logged 26 assists, and added four kills and 12 digs.

UMaine-Farmington will travel to Plymouth, N.H., this Saturday, Sept. 22, for matches against Plymouth State and UMass-Dartmouth.
