Women's volleyball picks up win at USM

GORHAM -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's volleyball team disposed of the University of Southern Maine 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-8) in non-conference action tonight.

The Beavers, who lost to USM twice earlier this season, improved to 6-10 and are scheduled to host Colby-Sawyer College tonight at 7 p.m.

Shannon Mitchell (Portsmouth, N.H.) notched 12 kills to lead Farmington, while Emily Beebe (Bristol, R.I.) and Jen Vadnais (Arundel, Maine) each scored six kills.

Katie Allen (Bucksport, Maine) passed out 20 assists in the victory to go along with five service aces and seven digs, while Bridget Flaherty (Plymouth, Mass.) and Whitney Walls (Bar Harbor, Maine) each recorded four aces. Walls also had seven digs.
