Women's volleyball defeated at Husson

BANGOR -- The University of Maine at Farmington dropped to 2-5 with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-8, 25-16) non-conference loss to Husson University tonight.

The Beavers are scheduled to host University of New England and University of Maine at Presque Isle on Saturday. The match schedule is: Farmington vs. UMPI, 10 a.m.; UNE vs. UMPI, noon; Farmington vs. UNE, 2 p.m.

The Eagles were led offensively in the match by Hannah Olstead, (Farmington, N.H.) who tallied nine kills and 16 assists. The Eagles were also led defensively by Kaitlyn McKay, (Lincoln, R.I.) who racked up nine digs on the evening.

In the second set, the Eagles started off with a 9-0 run.The Beavers scored three points after the run, but Husson answered back with another 8-0 run, putting the set out of reach.

Farmington's Emily Beebe (Bristol, R.I.) tallied six kills, followed by Jen Vadnais (Arundel, Maine) with five kills. Katie Allen (Bucksport, Maine) recorded 12 assists on the loss.
