Farmington, Maine - UMaine-Farmington senior midfielder Lydia Roy has been selected to play in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl Game.
Roy has been a four-year starter for the Beavers, starting all 75 games in her career. Roy has totaled 32 goals, 18 assists for a total of 82 points along with two game-winning goals in the 2018 season. Roy has earned the North Atlantic Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, NAC Player of the Week awards, NAC All-Conference selections and NAC All-Academic awards throughout her career.
Roy finished the 2018 season in seventh place in points in the NAC with 24, seventh in goals with nine and fifth in assists with six. Roy helped the Beavers win the North Atlantic Conference for the second time in program history and get the Beavers to the NCAA Regionals.
Roy will join Beth Lebel '14 and Kayle Tuttle '14 as the third member of the UMF women's soccer program to play in the NEWISA Senior Bowl Game.
The senior bowl game is scheduled for Saturday, December 1st at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
