Waterville, Maine – UMaine-Farmington continues their hot streak with a 1-0 win against Maine Maritime on Saturday afternoon in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) semifinals at Thomas College.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Despite being outshot 8-5 on the day, the Beavers were able to find the back of the net while Callie Hammer made four saves in goal for UMF. Emily Conway saw three shots and made two saves on the afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- McKenna Brodeur scored the lone goal on the game at the 16:48 mark in the first half to propel the Beavers into the NAC Championship game.
When asked about the pre-game speech and how it affected the team's play during the game, head coach, Molly Wilkie said "Our goal was not to worry about winning the game but to win all of the smaller moments within the game and let the result take care of itself. This team competed and battled every minute of the game and we're looking forward to the opportunity to play again tomorrow."
The Beavers will stay in Waterville to face off against Thomas College for the North Atlantic Conference Championship tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
