Bangor, Maine – The UMaine Farmington Women's team and the Husson Eagles battled it out on Saturday afternoon for the North Atlantic Conference Championship. The Beavers showed why they belonged in the title game, showing a good defensive effort and getting out in transition on offense. But in the end, the Eagles overcame it all and won 70-60 over the Beavers.
In the Box
- Alex Bessey led UMF with 20 points on 7-19 shooting, including three made three-pointers. Bessey also tallied two rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block for the Beavers.
- McKenna Brodeur had a major impact on the game with an 18 point, 12 rebound double-double. Brodeur went 9-15 from the field, as well as five assists and two steals.
- Page Brown had the next highest point total for UMF with seven points on 3-5 shooting, as well as four rebounds. Courtney Brent provided a spark off the bench with five points and two rebounds.
- Sydney Allen led the Husson Eagles with 17 points on 6-12 shooting. Joan Overman chipped in with 13 points, and Bailey Donovan had a 10 point, 10 rebound double-double.
The Beavers finish the year an even 14-14 record and runners-up in the North Atlantic Conference. Congratulations to the UMF Women's Basketball team.
