Waterville, ME – The UMaine Farmington Women's basketball team started their three-game road trip on Wednesday, visiting Colby College to take on the Mules. While the game started out evenly, the Mules continued to sink more and more shots, winning in the end 76-56 over the Beavers.
In the Box:
- Alex Bessey led the Beavers with a season-high 21 points on 5-15 shooting from the field, including 4-7 from three-point range. Bessey got to the line frequently as well, going 7-9 from the charity stripe.
- Molly Folsom was the other player in double-digit scoring for the Beavers, finishing with 12 points. Folsom went 5-12 from the floor, and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
- Tia Day had eight points for the Beavers. Day finished 3-6 shooting, including going 2-4 from three-point range.
- Ainsley Burns posted a game high 23 points for the Colby Mules. Ainsley was a force along the interior, grabbing six rebounds and blocking a game high six shots. Keagan Dunbar and Jane MacKerron finished with 12 points each as well for the Mules.
The Beavers come back to Waterville on Saturday, January 25th to take on the Thomas Terriers. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
