BANGOR, Maine – Elizabeth Ferry (Winslow, Maine/Winslow) recorded her second career double-double in the University of Maine at Farmington's (4-9, 4-3), 66-54, conference loss to Husson on Tuesday evening at Newman Gymnasium.
The Beavers erased an eight-point deficit in the first half and tied the game at, 28-28, with four and a half minutes left in the first half before the Eagles ran off an, 8-2, run to close out the half.
Coming out of the locker room, the Beavers battled back and came within one point of overtaking the Husson lead with 16:30 left in the game, but the Eagles answered to UMF's run. Husson built a 10-point lead with 11 minutes left and sank its final six of seven free throws for the final margin of victory.
Lindsay Ranquist (Owls Head, Maine/Medomak Valley) powered the Beavers offense with 14 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Ferry's double-double came on 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Husson's Victoria McIntyre (Mars Hill, Maine) shot 5-of-11 from the floor and 9-fo-10 from the free throw line for a game-high 20 points.
UMaine- Farmington returns to Farmington on Saturday with a 1:00p.m. tip-off against Thomas.
