POULTNEY, Vt. – The University of Maine at Farmington women's basketball team had four players score in double-digits as it handed North Atlantic Conference opponent Green Mountain College its 13th loss of the season, winning 88-40 Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Dome.
Bianca Stoutamyer scored 14 points off the bench for the Beavers, hitting four of her six attempts from 3-point range. Elizabeth Ferry added 12 points while also grabbing eight boards for the Beavers. Lindsay Ranquist and Holly Oliver each tallied 11 points in the contest.
Green Mountain's Allison Wadsworth scored a game-high 20 points and dished off three assist while Torie Cowell recorded her second straight double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Newcomer Keelin Banks had five steals to go along with her pair of assists and Virginia Anderson grabbed seven boards for the Eagles.
Green Mountain (1-13, 0-10 NAC) struggled to score in the first half, hitting only 11-of-33 from the floor and was outrebounded by the Beavers 27-13.
UMaine-Farmington (7-10, 6-4 NAC) was on fire in the first half, going 20-for-39 from the field and hitting eight shots from behind the arc to pull ahead to a comfortable 51-25 lead at halftime.
The Beavers' hot hands did not cool after the break, as they would shoot 16-for-31 from the floor in the second stanza.
The Eagles could not handle the defensive pressure from the University of Maine at Farmington, as they committed 11 turnovers in the second half.
The Beavers distributed the ball well in the contest, dishing out 27 assists while committing only 11 turnovers.
UMaine-Farmington will host New England College next Friday at 7:30 p.m. in a North Atlantic Conference contest. The Eagles will travel to NAC adversary Maine Maritime next Friday for a 7:30 p.m. tip off.
