MacDonald Earns Canadian National Champion

Farmington, Maine - UMaine-Farmington's women's alpine skier Mackenzie MacDonald competed at the Winter Park 2019 World Para-Alpine Ski Championships this past week.

MacDonald, a sophomore on the women's alpine team, finished first at the Winter Park 2019 World Para-Alpine Ski Championships.  The first-place finish earned her the Canadian National Championship.  Macdonald finished the first run with a time of 1:35.62 and second run at 1:47.39 for a total time of 3:23.01.  Sophomore teammate Brianna Marquis was her guide for the race.

On Saturday, March 30th, MacDonald took second place in the women's slalom vision impaired race with a time of 2:15.23. In the first run, MacDonald notched a time of 1:10.66 followed by a time of 1:04.57. Cassie Grenier took first place with a time of 2:05.25.
