Beavers Close Out Regionals at Sugarloaf

Sugarloaf – UMaine-Farmington women's alpine team took ninth place at the USCSA Regionals in the GS on Saturday with a total time of 6:28.28.

Alexa Pelletier finished on top for the Beavers with a 35th place finish with a time of 1:03.01 in run one and 1:03.06 in run two for a total time of 2:06.07 while Alicia Gaiero took 39th place with a time of 1:04.74 in run one and 1:05.03 in run two for a total time of 2:09.79.

Jennifer Hancock took 44th place with a time of 1:05.33 in run one and 1:07.09 in run two for a total time of 2:12.42.

 

On Sunday, the Beavers took 10th overall in SL with a total time of 5:47.73.

Erin Guilmet took 39th place with a time of 51.13 in run one and 57.03 in run two for a total time of 1:48.16. Jennifer Hancock took 42nd place with a time of 54.25 in run one and 58.69 in run two for a total time of 1:52.94.

Alicia Gaiero finished in 46th place with a time of 1:00.48 on run one and 1:06.15 in run two for a time of 2:06.63.

As a team, the Beavers finished in 10th place with a total of 19 points on the weekend.

 

UMF athletes Jessica Freeborn and Valery Gillis both competed in Slalom and GS events over the weekend, with Freeborn placing 9th in Slalom and 8th GS, and Gillis placing 7th in GS, giving UMF a 3rd place finish in women's alpine skiing overall.
