Alpine Heads into Last Full Weekend of Regular Season Racing

Farmington, Maine – The UMaine Farmington alpine ski team faces strong competition this weekend in the Thompson Division GS and SL races at Sunday River in Bethel Maine on Saturday and Sunday.

Kyle Farrington is leading the way for the men's team in the Reynolds Divison and also in the region. Farrington has picked it up of late by finishing in second on his home course at Titcomb on January 28th.  Farrington has over a 60-point gap with 381 points while Jeremy Leavitt from the University of Maine has 314 points.

Jed Stevens has also started to pick it up as he jumped from 20th place to 5th over the past two weeks. Stevens has finished in third place and first place to give him an overall score of 276. Stevens will look to continue to move up this weekend to jump into fourth place over JC Magnotto from Colby.

As a team, UMF is in third place in the division and also in third place in the region.

Erin Buckland sits in fourth place for the ladies team with 290 points, just 10 points behind Colby's Collette Gould who seems to have Buckland's number week after week. Buckland has also started to pick it up of late and will look to jump over Gould with strong finishes this weekend.
