UMF Snowboard Earns a Trio of Medals at Sugarloaf

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington snowboard team earned three gold medals at the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Snowboard Bordercross & Skiercross at Sugarloaf on Friday afternoon. 

In the women's open class race, Whitney LeMay (Woodridge, Va./Home School) won the event with 1,010 points and a score of 54.87. 

In the women's jam, 18-22 age group, Angelica Horne (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) was victorious with 1,010 points and came away with a score of 57.55.

Vaughn Keenhold (Braintree, Vt./Randolph Union) earned a gold medal after winning the men's skiers competition, 19-29 age group, with a 53.46 score and 1,010 points.

The UMaine-Farmington snowboard team returns to Sugarloaf on Saturday and the nordic team competes in the USCSA Regional Qualifying Nordic Championship, hosted in Middlebury, Vt.
