Ski Team Tops Maine in USCSA Race at Hermon Mountain

HERMON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington Ski Team won the team competition in today's United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Reynolds Division event held at Hermon Mountain.

UMF beat Maine by nearly three seconds as Alex Rose and Samuel Ricker placed in the top two spots. Alex Rose had the best two run times of the day to earn the best overall time of 54:37. Ricker was right behind Rose in second play with a combined time of 56:90. William Asbell finished ninth with a time of 59:57, but it was good enough for the Beavers to edge the Black Bears.

The Beavers' combined time was 2:50:84 while the Black Bears followed with a time of 2:53:04. The top three racers for Maine placed third, fifth, and sixth.

In the women's Cupid Slalom, Emily Ramsey raced her way to a ninth-place finish with an overall time of 1:12:98.

UMaine-Farmington will close the season next weekend at the USCSA Regionals held at West Mountain in Queensbury, N.Y.
