Alpine Ski Team Wins Team Competition by 17 Seconds at Sunday River

NEWRY, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington Alpine Ski Team won the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Thompson Division Race held at Sunday River on Saturday.

Samuel Ricker raced his way to a second place finish and the top Beaver skier on the day with a combined time of 1:18:00. Alex Rose was a split second (1:18:29) off Ricker's pace and placed third. Alex Stevens came in 12th with a total time of 1:29.26 to give the Beavers the team competition victory.

UMF topped Northeastern University by 17 seconds. The Beavers' overall time was 4:05:55 and NU finished with 4:22.71 as an overall time. Maine came in third with final time of 4:43.08. 

UMaine-Farmington returns to Sunday River on Sunday for another USCSA Thompson Division race.
