RUMFORD, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington Ski Team had a strong showing at the United States Collegiate Ski Association Reynolds Division event held at Black Mountain.
Lindsey Jacques won the Singles Course Race by seven-tenths of a second. The junior finished with a combined time of 1:32:47 and outraced the University of Maine at Orono's Marissa Roberts with a second place time of 1:32:54.
For the second consecutive race, Alex Rose and Samuel Ricker raced their way to a one-two finish in the Single Course Race. Rose cut off nearly two seconds on his second run for the best overall time of 1:21:17. Ricker improved by a second on his second run with a time of 1:23:19.
"The top two men on the team carried us to victory this weekend. Alex Rose and Sam Ricker were fast enough and put enough time between them and the first UMain-Orono racers to allow our third place racers, Sebastian Dumont on Saturday and Alex Stevens on Sunday to have solid finishes and score three seconds ahead of the Maine team in total time each day. Great team effort all around in skiing this weekend," Ski Team Head Coach Scott Hoisington expressed after the event.
UMaine-Farmington returns to Titcomb Mountain on Saturday, January 24th at 3:00p.m.
