NEWRY, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington men's ski team finished fifth overall at the United States Collegiate Ski Association (USCSA) Thompson Division Men's Giant Slalom event held at Sunday River on Saturday.
The men's team completed the event with a total time of 5:07:12 and 57 place points. UMaine-Orono won the even with 39 place points.
Lindsey Jacques finished in 11th place in the Ladies Giant Slalom with a combined time of 1:47:09. The women's team achieved a seventh place finish 159 place points. Northeastern University claimed the title with six place points and a combined time of 5:09:28.
In the Men's Giant Slalom, Alex Rose nearly raced his way to a top five finish with a combine time of 1:38.97, only 30-one hundredth of a second behind the top five racers. Same Ricker followed in 14th place with a combine time of 1:40:84. Sebastien Dumont crossed the line in 35th with a time of 1:47:31. William Asbell and Alex Stevens raced to a 40th and 41st finish.
UMaine-Farmington stays at Sunday River on Sunday for another Thompson Division Giant Slalom event.
