LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – University of Maine at Farmington senior David Berthiaume advanced through the qualification round in Skier X and reached the Round of 32 during Thursday competition at the United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships at Whiteface Mountain.
Berthiaume posted a time of 42.25, and was placed in one of eight four-man brackets in the elimination round. Unfortunately, Berthiaume did not advance out of his bracket.
On Wednesday, Berthiaume competed in the Slopestyle event and finished 26th overall with 26.7 points. His routine included a 180 off the large pipe rail, a cork 720, a tuck 720, and a helicopter.
