Rose paces Farmington at Eastern Championship slalom

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington junior Alex Rose finished sixth overall out of 52 competitors who completed two runs at Sunday's USCSA Eastern Championship  slalom race at Sugarloaf.

Rose posted a combined time of 1:19.76, just five one-thousandths of a second out of fifth place, and just over a second behind the event winner.

Senior Geoff Ballou was 37th overall with a time of 1:36.87, while Jeremy Demers was 42nd with a combined time of 1:45.62.

In the women's slalom race, all three UMaine-Farmington entrants failed to complete both runs.
