Rose finishes third in USCSA Eastern Region slalom

GREENWOOD, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington sophomore Alex Rose (Fayette, Maine) was the lone UMF skier on the podium in Sunday's USCSA Eastern Region Championship Slalom at Mt. Abram ski area.

Rose completed his run in a time of 49.11 to finish third in the event. Due to heavy snow on the course, only one run was completed.

Josh Cooley (Vassalboro, Maine) was second among UMF finishers and 22nd overall with a time of 51.94, while David Berthiaume (Allentown, N.H.) was 24th overall and third among Farmington entries in the event with a time of 52.19.

Jeremy Demers (Boscawen, N.H.) was 36th overall with a mark of 56.73, while Sebastien Dumont (Skowhegan, Maine) was 37th with a time of 56.74.

As a team, the Beavers were sixth overall with a total time of 2:33.24.

In the women's slalom, Natalie Dumont (Skowhegan, Maine) was 34th overall with a time of 1:08.07, while Meghan Donovan (Westborough, Mass.) finished 42nd in 1:14.29. The UMF women's team was 12th overall in the slalom championship.
