AUBURN, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington junior David Berthiaume (Allentown, N.H.) finished first among the "A" skiers at Sunday's Bowdoin and Bates Carnival slalom hosted by the Lost Valley ski area.
Berthiaume turned in a combined time of 52.51, slightly ahead of Josh Cooley (Vassalboro, Maine) and Sebastien Dumont (Skowhegan, Maine), who were second and third respectively among the "A" racers. Cooley posted a time of 54.90, while Dumont's combined mark was 58.97.
In the women's slalom, Meghan Donovan (Westborough, Mass.) was first among the "A" skiers with a time of 1:08.36, and finished eighth overall. Natalie Dumont (Skowhegan, Maine) was fifth with a time of 1:16.06.
The UMF ski teams return to the hill on Saturday, Feb. 9, at a USCSA Thompson Division slalom event at Sunday River ski resort in Newry, Maine.
