GREENWOOD, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington's Alex Rose (Fayette, Maine) and Lindsay Jacques (Jay, Maine) finished atop the leaderboards in the men's and women's giant slalom at Sunday's USCSA Reynolds Division event at Mt. Abram ski area.
Jacques posted a combined time of 1:36.41 to finish first in the GS, with Meghan Donovan (Westborough, Mass.) placing fourth among the "A" competitors with a time of 1:51.23. Natalie Dumont (Skowhegan, Maine) was fifth among "A" skiers with a time of 1:59.85.
The trio of Jacques, Donovan, and Dumont led UMaine-Farmington to first place in the team competition, with a total time of 5:27.49.
After winning Saturday's slalom event, Rose repeated the feat on Sunday by taking the GS with a combined time of 1:28.58.
Josh Cooley (Vassalboro, Maine) and David Berthiaume (Allentown, N.H.) finished second and third among "A" skiers with combined times of 1:32.03 and 1:32.86 respectively. As a team, the UMF men finished first with a total time of 4:33.47.
The UMaine-Farmington ski teams will host a dual slalom event next Sunday, Feb. 3, at Lost Valley ski area in Auburn, Maine.
