GREENWOOD, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington's Alex Rose and Josh Cooley finished first and second respectively to lead the Beavers at Saturday's Reynolds Division slalom races at Mt. Abram ski area.
Rose had the top time in each run on his way to a combined time of 1:18.94. Cooley turned in a combined time of 1:27.06 after placing third and fourth in his two runs.
Jonathan Ellis finished fourth with a combined time of 1:28.36, while David Berthiaume also finished among the top five with a time of 1:31.68.
In the women's slalom event, Meghan Donovan posted a combined time of 1:52.69, while Natalie Dumont was right behind with 1:58.06. Lindsay Jacques had the best time in the first run with a time of 43.61, but she struggled in her second run and posted a combined time of 3:27.66.
Competition continues Sunday at Mt. Abram with the giant slalom event.
