UMF Nordic ski teams finish regular season

FARMINGTON, Maine -- The University of Maine at Farmington men's and women's Nordic ski teams completed their regular seasons at the University of Maine at Presque Isle over the weekend.

The Beavers are slated to compete in the Eastern Collegiate Ski Conference Championships at the Army Biathlon Center in Jericho, Vt., this weekend.

In Alpine racing, the UMF men and women competed in the giant slalom at Sunday River on Sunday.

Jacquelyn Reis (Bethel, Maine) turned in the best performance of her collegiate career to pace the women's squad with a two-run time of 2:00.76. UMF's scoring was rounded out by Marisa Hanning (Hebron, Maine) at 2:31.98 and Liz Sargent (Trenton, Maine) at 2:55.10.

Sam Ricker (Turner, Maine) led the Beavers on the men's side with a time of 1:59.35 for the division victory. Josh Cooley (Vassalboro, Maine) followed Ricker at 2:06.24, while David Berthiaume (Allentown, N.H.) enjoyed his best racing of the year at 2:06.59.

The Alpine teams are scheduled to visit Big Rock on Saturday.
