Rose, UMF men's Alpine wins at Shawnee Peak

BRIDGTON, Maine -- Alex Rose (Fayette, Maine) clocked a first-place finish to lead the University of Maine at Farmington men's Alpine ski team to a Reynolds Division victory in slalom racing Sunday at Shawnee Peak.

Rose turned in a two-run time of 1:23.08 to pace the Beavers. Rose was followed by teammates Sam Ricker (Turner, Maine) at 1:30.79 and David Berthiaume (Allenstown, N.H.) at 1:38.60.

UMF's Jacquelyn Reis (Bethel, Maine) was the top finisher in the women's runs at 1:43.23. Liz Sargent (Trenton, Maine) also shined for the Beavers, who finished in second place.

UMF is scheduled to race at Mount Abram on Saturday.
