Holt and Dillan both Hit Home runs on Opening Day

Clermont, Fla. – UMaine-Farmington's softball team opened their season in Florida on Sunday with a doubleheader against Trinity and Framingham State.

Game One (L, 8-0)

  • Kailyn Hill started in the circle, going four innings and giving up 12 hits with five earned runs with three strikeouts.
  • Jordan Stephan was awarded the win for Trinity going four innings with one hit.
  • Broghan Gagnon notched the lone hit for the Beavers.
  • Samantha Witmer went 3-3 at the plate for Trinity with one RBI as Nicole Towner went 2-2 with three RBI's.

Game Two (L,10-7)

  • Brianna McGrath went seven innings in the circle, giving up 15 hits with nine earned runs with 10 strikeouts.
  • Marissa Vellucci was awarded the win after going 1.1 innings giving up six hits, and one earned run.
  • Haley Holt and Alyssa Dillan each hit their first career home runs as Holt went 2-4 at the plate with two RBI's. Dillan went 2-3 with two RBI's and one run.
  • Kayleigh Oberg went 2-4 with two RBI's as Makayla Wilson went 2-5 with two runs and a double.
  • Camille Desrochers went 4-5 at the plate with four RBI's and three runs while Grace Caughey went 3-4 with one RBI.
  • Kirsten Dick went 1-4 with a double and two RBI's.
