Dartmouth, Mass. – The UMaine-Farmington men's and women's cross country teams competed at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational this weekend.
The men finished 22 out of 40 teams. Freshman Jeremiah Sands led the men's team in the varsity race coming in 38 out of 315 runners with a time of 26:28. Robbie Hollis finished second for the men's team in 71st place with a time of 27:10. David Doering (30:27), Jason Labbe (30:28) and Jordan Fried (30:59) rounded out the scoring for the men's team.
The women had a very strong race as a whole team, coming in 22 out of 40 teams and placing in front of all of the other NAC teams at the meet. Katie Leblanc finished first for the women's team in the varsity race, coming in 36 out of 299 women with a time of 19:30. Laura Pulito finished second for the women, coming in 71st with a time of 19:59. Gwen Baker came in third for the women with a time of 21:09. Hannah Emery (21:41) and Molly Jack (22:38) finished out the scoring for the Beavers.
There were many PRs for the team as a whole. Both teams will race in two weeks at the Bowdoin Invitational.
