JOHNSON, Vt. – University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team came home with a second place finish on Saturday afternoon at the Johnson State Invitational.
Robert Hollis (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) won today's event out of 107 racers by crossing the line at 27:06.3. Connor Wagner (Bangor, Maine/John Bapst Memorial) had a solid race with a sixth place finish at 27.58.3. Abdi Hassan (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) placed 18th in the eight-kilometer event at 29:01.1. Yussuf Adow (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) placed 37th at 30:42.6 and Connor Marland (Wrentham, Mass./King Philip) rounded out UMF's scoring in 47th place at 31:23.3.
UMF took second place on the team leaderboard with 90 points and averaged 29:14.3. Clarkson University won the crown with 23 points while averaging 27:54.7.
UMaine-Farmington will compete in the Bowdoin Invitational next Saturday.
