BANGOR, Maine -- University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country sophomore Robert Hollis (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) raced his way to the top spot at the 2015 North Atlantic Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon, hosted by Husson University at Saxl Park.
Hollis topped the competition by 25 seconds as he finished with an overall time of 27:01.05. Fellow sophomore Connor Wagner (Bangor, Maine/John Bapst Memorial) followed in seventh place at 27:55.68. Junior Austin Gatcomb (Wrentham, Mass./King Philip) crossed the line at 28:52.97 in 18th for the top 20 finish. Joshua Wynne (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) placed 24th overall with a time of 29:10.40 and Corey McCullough rounded out UMF's scoring in 34th place at 29:42.59.
The Beavers claimed third on the team leaderboard at the 8k-championship race with 84 points. Lyndon won the conference title with 46 points while Colby-Sawyer ranked ahead of UMF in second with 78 points.
UMaine-Farmington will compete in the NCAA Regional Championship on Saturday, November 14, 2015, hosted by Connecticut College.
