WRENTHAM, Mass. – The duo of Connor Wagner and Robert Hollis powered the University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team to a fourth place team finish at the Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Gordon College.
Wagner placed sixth overall in the individual standings with a combined time of 27:12 and averaged a 5.27 mile. Hollis followed in seventh with a time of 27:21 and averaged only a tenth of a second slower per mile than Wagner.
The team came in fourth out of 11 teams in the 5k race. UMF recorded a score of 95 and trailed host Gordon College by 15 points for second place. The University of New England grabbed the crown with 42 points.
UMaine-Farmington will race again on October 10 at the St. Joseph's Runnin' Monks Invitational.
