CASTLETON, Vt. – The UMaine-Farmington men's cross country team finished fifth overall at the North Atlantic Conference Championship held at Castleton State College on Sunday afternoon.
The Beavers finished with 139 points. Lyndon State won the event with 38 points. Colby-Sawyer came in second with 49 points and New England College was third with 90 points. Castleton State finished fourth, ahead of UMF, with 102 points.
Austin Gatcomb finished as UMF's top runner with a seventh place finish. Gatcomb crossed the line with a total time of 27:11. Lyndon State's Tyler Scheibenpflu completed the race with the best time of 25:27.
Robert Hollis followed Gatcomb with a 15th place finish. Hollis crossed the line at the 27:31 mark and inches behind Castleton's Grandon Smith. Joshua Wynne followed with a 24th place finish and a time of 18:20.
UMaine-Farmington will compete in the NCAA Regionals on November 16th.
