Cross Country Teams Improve Times at Bowdoin Invitational

BRUNSWICK, ME – Freshman Connor Wagner led the Beavers with a 25th place finish out of 88 runners in the 5k run at the Bowdoin Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Wagner ran a 27:31.69 in the 8k run, finishing just two minutes off the lead pace of Luke O'Connor from Tufts. Wagner improved his time by a 1:45 from last weekend at the Husson Invitational.

Bowdoin took the men's 8k title with a total time of 2:09:55.60, averaging 25:59.12 per runner. UMaine-Farmington finished sixth with a total time of 2:27:50.19, averaging 29:34 per runner.

Kaitlin Flanders finished 44th in the women's 5k run with a total time of 21:14.14, out of 85 racers. Flanders was three minutes off Tufts' Audrey Gould's lead pace of 18:06.90. Like Wagner, Flanders would improve her time from last weekend's Husson Invitational by 3:10.

Tufts took home the women's 5k crown with a total time of 1:33:02.45, averaging 18:36 per runner. UMaine-Farmington finished fourth as a team with a total time of 1:50:51.28, with an average of 22:20.26 per runner. 

The UMF men and women's team will compete again at the Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational on September 27th
