Fortin leads Beavers at NCAA New England Regionals

WESTFIELD, Mass. – University of Maine at Farmington junior Jackson Fortin (Jefferson, Maine/Erskine Academy was the Beavers' top finisher at Saturday's NCAA Division III New England Regional Cross Country Championship, hosted by Westfield State College.

Fortin placed 211th out of 351 runners in the field, posting a time of 29:05.59. 

Josh Wynne (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) was the next highest UMF finisher, placing 223rd in a time of 29:28.43. Jamie Williams (Waterville, Maine/Waterville) was 295th (31:46.52), and Abdikadir Hassan (Lewiston, Maine/Lewiston) was 300th (31:53.29). Andrew Carlson (Casco, Maine/Lake Region) was 308th (32.24.51), Kevin Lind (Augusta, Maine/Cony) finished 319th (32:41.78), and Nick Bourget (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) was 338th (34:37.36). 

Overall, UMaine-Farmington was 42nd out of 50 teams in the NCAA regional meet with 1301 points.
