Farmington, Maine – UMaine-Farmington's early goal and Matt Wilson's shutout gives the Beavers the 1-0 victory against the University of New England in a non-conference game on Leib Field.
With the win, the Beavers move to 5-5-0 on the year while the Nor' Easters fall too 2-10 overall.
BY THE NUMBERS
The Nor' Easters held the advantage in shots with 20 to the Beavers eight while the Beavers made nine saves to the UNE's three. UNE had three corners in the first half and five in the second while UMF only had one corner during the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beavers got on the board early in the opening 10 minutes when James Pelletier found the back of the net from the right side off a cross from Luke Dwornik. The Beavers kept the Nor' Easters off the board the rest of the way.
Matt Wilson picked up his fifth win of the year with nine saves. Will Shearon gets the loss with letting in one goal and making three saves.
The Beavers will be home on Saturday for senior day when they will face Green Mountain at 3:30 p.m.
