Farmington, Maine – UMaine-Farmington was edged out by Thomas College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 1-0 on Leib Field in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action.

Shots were even throughout the contest with each team taking a total of eight. UMF held the advantage in saves (6-2) while corner kicks were also tied at two apiece. Thomas took the edge in fouls, leading 13-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Terriers took the earl 1-0 lead when MacQuille Walker scored from about 12 yards out after collecting a pass from Josh Emard. The Beavers defense stepped up and was able to keep Thomas out of the box in the second half, holding them to three shots.
Thomas Dupuy had an open look off a header in the second half but was just wide left. UMF goalkeeper, Matt Wilson held the Terriers in check, making six saves. Jonathan Dutka and John Villanueva split time in net and each made one save for Thomas.
With about three minutes to play, the Beavers had another chance when Andrew Longhurst took a free kick to the top right corner but netminder Villanueva was there to make the stop and hold on the 1-0 victory for Thomas.
The Beavers will host the Pilgrims of New England College on Wednesday with the start time set for 4:00 p.m.
