PRESQUE ISLE, Maine - The Nordic team headed up to northern Maine to participate in the Chummy Broomhall Cup, an annual ski race for Maine Collegiate skiers. Cool temps and tons of snow made for a fun technical and hilly 10k skate race.
With a competitive race field comprised of Colby, Bowdoin, Bates, and UMPI, UMF skied hard and finished strongly. The top UMF skier Jordan Fried came in first for the men with a time of 28:59. Due to a hibernating bear on course, the women's race was delayed and re-routed. Despite the changes, Megan Morrison came in first for the UMF women at 35:46.
Next weekend the Beavers keep it local and compete at Black Mountain and Sugarloaf.
