Farmington, Maine - UMF Men's Alpine had a successful first race of the regular season at Titcomb Mountain, Maine.
The men's team won their first race by over nine seconds and held three top 10 finishes. Kyle Farrington finished 1st at his home mountain, followed by Captain Jed Stevens coming back from being outside the top three to finishing 3rd overall. Axel Lindsay, earns hard charger coming from 13th to finish 6th overall to lock the men in for the win. Rounding out the men was Curtis Paradis (9th), Captain Mike Miller (11th), Charlie de Haas (16th), Braden Brothers (20th), Ben Higgins (21st), and Stuart Cole (23rd).
When Coach Willihan was asked about today's performance he commented, " This is a younger group of men with hidden speed and a strong base of competition experience." "What impressed me most was their want to get faster." "Some of the men came up to me to tell me they left some speed on the hill." "We will get back to the slope this week and work hard to make gains before our next series," said coach Willihan.
UMF Alpine heads to New Hampshire next weekend to compete in the McConnell Division at Pats Peak and Ragged Mountain.
