FARMINGTON, Maine - University of Maine at Farmington golf team finished in second place at the Maine Maritime Invitational on Thursday at the Augusta Country Club.
Eric Aguiar (Thornton, N.H./Plymouth Regional) was the top performer for the Beavers. Aguiar finished in an impressive third place overall only three shots behind the leader. Junior Gavin Brickley (Plymouth, N.H./Plymouth Regional) had a solid round, shooting 76 and tied for fifth overall.
Matt Pelletier (South Portland, Maine/South Portland) finished in the top ten overall, shooting a 79 and tied for ninth. Trevor Hisler (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan) finished at 81 (tied for 13th) and Michael Richard (Turner, Maine/St.Dom's Academy) finished at 84 (tied for 17th) to round out the scoring for UMF.
UMF (311) finished in the top two for the third time this year and scored as the top North Atlantic Conference team at the invitational. University of Southern Maine won the event with a score of 302.
UMaine-Farmington golf competes at the Southern Maine Fall Classic on Sunday and Monday.
