Beavers Edged by Chargers

North Sutton, N.H. – UMaine Farmington was edged by Colby-Sawyer on Saturday afternoon on Kearsarge Field due to dense fog at Colby-Sawyer. The Beavers lost by a score of 4-2 and 1-0.

Game One


Derek Bowen lead the Beavers in hitting after a 3-4 day at the plate to go along with two RBI's. Mark Leahy finished 2-4 and one run, Jimmy Parks added a hit while Trevor Hisler finished the game 1-3.

Justin Devoid went 2-3 for the Chargers while Brendan Thurber went 1-3 with two RBI's. Andrew Pratt went 1-3 while Jackson Musco added an RBI.

Nate Pushard went six innings for the Beavers, giving up seven hits, four runs, two earned runs with one walk and three strikeouts. Chris Mitchell also went six innings, giving up nine hits with two earned runs with one walks and three strikeouts.

How It Happened

The Beavers gave up three runs in the bottom of the second, Brendan Thurber homered to center which scored Justin Devoid on the play. Later, Doug Avellino grounded out to short stop which scored Joey Fenuccio on the place.

In the top of the third, Derek Bowen singled up the middle to score Jimmy Parks and Mark Leahy.

The Chargers scored one more in the fourth when Jackson Musco singled to right field to score Connorr Henry.

Game Two


Derek Bowen and Ethan Gouin both notched two hits while Mark Leahy finished with one hit. Riley Chickering threw six innings, giving up six hits, one run, zero earned runs with one strike out.

Nathan Frongillo and Conner Henry each had two this for the Chargers to go along with Dough Avellino and Justin Devoid each had one hit. Michael Fazio threw seven innings, giving up only five hits on the day.

Liam de la Blotier reached first on an error which scored Connor Henry.
