The University of Maine at Farmington Athletics Hall of Fame was founded to perpetuate the memory of those persons who have brought distinction, honor and excellence to UMF through their accomplishments in athletics.
The UMF Athletics Hall of Fame Committee seeks nominations for eligible and deserving former Beaver student-athletes, coaches, administrators and/or significant service/supporters for induction into the university’s Athletics Hall of Fame.
Consideration for the UMF Athletics Hall of Fame is based on the
A. Former Athletes
Any former varsity intercollegiate athlete who participated in at least two years of varsity competition while attending UMF is eligible to be elected to the Hall of Fame. He/she must be a graduate of UMF or one of its predecessor institutions such as Farmington Normal School or Farmington State Teacher’s College. Each candidate must have graduated a minimum of five years prior to consideration for induction in the Hall of Fame. Additional consideration will be given to an individual’s professional and career development, community and/or university service, and continued involvement in athletics through coaching, officiating, athletic administration or other noteworthy achievements.
B. Former Coaches or Athletic Administrators
These individuals would be considered highly successful former members of the coaching or athletics administrative staff.
C. Meritorious Service
These individuals will have given outstanding service to UMF athletics. Such individuals could include administrative staff, members of the media, supporters or sponsors, volunteers or any special friend of the UMF athletics department.
