Farmington, Maine - UMaine-Farmington is proud to announce that Chase Malloy has been nominated for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Man of the Year Award.
The NAC Man of the Year award is modeled after the NCAA Woman of the Year program which honors graduating student-athletes who distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletic excellence, service, and leadership. The nominees for the NAC Woman of the Year were released on June 24. These are the two preeminent awards presented annually by the conference.
Chase Malloy (Madison, Maine) is a 2020 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington (UMF). He earned a bachelor's degree in Pre-Physical Therapy with a minor in Psychology. Malloy earned NAC All-Academic Team honors three times and was named to the UMF Dean's List each of his eight semesters. His academic success led to a job as a Peer Tutor for upper-level biology courses. He received the UMF Academic Excellence Award for four years, and the Male Senior Scholar-Athlete award in 2020. Malloy was an active member of the UMF Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and volunteered to serve the community through Special Olympics events, homeless shelter work, and clean-up days at local youth fields. He was a two-year member of the Men's Basketball program and a four-year member of the Beavers' Baseball Team. The baseball team captain earned multiple NAC All-Conference and All-Tournament Team honors and was selected as the UMF Male Athlete of the Year in 2019. The third baseman was consistently a statistical leader in the conference and had an opportunity to set a wide range of UMF program records that had the 2020 season been completed.
