FARMINGTON, Maine - Jack Kane and McKenna Brodeur have been named UMF Student-Athletes for their performances during the week ending February 23rd, 2010.
Kane, a sophomore on the men's basketball team, scored a game-high 17 points making all seven shots he attempted in only 22 minutes of play. UMF beat Thomas College 93-66 to finish first in the regular season. Kane also hauled down 12 rebounds and shot three for three from the foul line. UMF will play UMPI in the NAC semifinal on Friday at Dearborn Gymnasium starting at 5:30p.
Brodeur, a junior on the women's basketball team, scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Beaver's NAC quarterfinal win over NVU-Johnson by the score of 87-54. Brodeur added four blocks, three steals, and two assists in the win as UMF advances to play Maine Maritime Academy on Friday at Husson University in the NAC semifinals.
