FARMINGTON, Maine - Alexa Pelletier and Riley Robinson have been named UMF Student-Athletes of the Week.
Pelletier, a junior on the women's alpine team, finished second overall on Saturday at Titcomb and then placed first on Sunday at Sugarloaf. On Saturday, Pelletier finished run one with a time of 42:33 and run two with a time of 42:39 for a total of 1:24.72. On Sunday, she finished with a total time of 2:03.77 for the first place finish.
Robinson, a junior on the men's basketball team, lead the Beavers to a 2-0 NAC record. On Friday, Robinson dropped 24 points on 8 for 14 shooting including 6 for 9 from three-point territory. He also added five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. On Saturday, Riley continued his hot shooting leading UMF to a 92-82 victory over Husson in Bangor. The win vaulted the Beavers into first place in the North Atlantic Conference. Robinson scored 27 points which included the 1000th point of his career, making him the 28th men's basketball player to go over the 1000 point plateau. He added five rebounds, five assists, and a steal in the win.
