Farmington, Maine - The #6 top moment of the 2017-18 University of Maine at Farmington athletic season is Kayleigh Oberg winning rookie of the year in the NAC. Oberg had a dominant rookie season for the Beavers as she hit .396 with a .456 on-base percentage. She also hit four home runs and drove in 17 runs. In the field, she had a .1000 fielding percentage with 53 put-outs and eight assists.
Another accomplishment for the team was in a doubleheader against Pine Manor in which the Beavers didn't give up a hit the whole day as Brianna McGrath threw a perfect game and Erika Whitman threw a no-hitter.
The Beavers hope to get back to postseason play next year in a new look North Atlantic Conference.
