Bangor, Maine – UMaine Farmington's Lacrosse team beat Husson University on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 10-9 in overtime on Boucher Field in Bangor.
With the victory, the Beavers move to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play while Husson falls to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC).
How It Happened
Jackson scored two goals in the first half while Nickyia Lovely scored a goal and Husson led 5-3 at the half way point.
Husson opened the second half with a goal from Makenna Mont to put the Eagles up by three but back to back goals from Carly Raymond brought the Beavers within one.
Husson would go back up by two when Makenna Mont scored again but UMF went to score three unanswered goals to make the score 8-7.
The Eagles then scored two unanswered goals with a minute and thirty seconds left in the game to take a 9-8 lead. With one minute left in the game, Rhi Jackson took control and tied the game for the Beavers which led to Jaclyn Langevin scoring just 20 seconds into the overtime.
Samantha Bickford made 12 saves for the Beavers, Jackson led all players with eight groundballs. The Beavers forced 36 turnovers to go with a total of 25 shots.
