Mendall Wins the 15K Race at Titcomb

WEST FARMINGTON, Maine -- University of Maine at Farmington men's nordic skier Calen Mendall (Manchester, Maine/Home School) won the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Katadhim nordic 15-kilometer race at Titcomb Mountain on Sunday afternoon.

Mendall topped the competition by a full second with a time of 56:01.86. Bryce Neal (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) trailed his teammate for second place and crossed the line at 57:02.90. Alisha Labbe (Turner, Maine/Leavitt) guided the women's team in fifth place at 58:12.05. Ellie Pinto (Essex, Vt./Essex) was one place shy of a top ten finish. Pinto came in 11th place with a total time of 1:15:46.08. Megan Morrison (Dixfield, Maine/Dirigo) rounded out UMF's scoring in 12th place at 1:18:02.60.

In the five-kilometer sit ski race, Christina Kouros (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) finished the race with a time of 23:53.73.

The UMaine-Farmington snowboard teams returns to action on Friday at Sugarloaf. The nordic and alpine teams return to the course on Saturday. The Nordic team competes at Black Mountain while the alpine teams competes at Sunday.
