Readfield, Maine – UMaine Farmington split Monday's double-header with the University of Maine Presque Isle with a loss in game one (3-2) and a victory in game two (7-5) at the Alfond Sports Complex at Kents Hill School.
Elizabeth Walker went 1-2 with two RBI's; one run, one walk and a homerun while Alison Hamilton went 1-3 with a run. Anastasia Albright threw seven innings, giving up six hits, three earned runs with three strikeouts.
Sara Packard pitched for the Owls, throwing seven complete innings, giving up three hits and two earned runs with 13 strikeouts. At the plate, Packard went 3-3 with all three runs and one RBI and a homerun.
Brianna Losee and Nicole Marucci each had an RBI.
The Beavers took game two by a score of 7-5. The Beavers took the lead 3-1 in the bottom of the second but the Owls came back in the top of the third to take a 5-3 lead. UMF came right back to tie the game at five in the bottom of the third. The Beavers held the Owls after that and then scored two runs in the sixth to take the 7-5 victory.
Elizabeth Walker went 1-4 with a homerun and two RBI's while Alison Hamilton went 3-4 with one run and one RBI. Kiana Thompson had a big RBI in the bottom of the sixth to put the Beavers up 6-5 followed by Alyssa Dillan picking up an RBI in the sixth as well.
Brianna McGrath threw four solid innings, giving up 5 hits and one walk to give her the win while Sara Packard was notched with the loss after throwing six innings, giving up 14 hits and seven runs with five strikeouts. 9
